B) 1H-NMR spectrum of purified LTA chemically treated to mainly remove D-alanine esters by alkaline hydrolysis in Tris buffer in D2O pH 8.5 for 24 h at 25°C. C) 1H-NMR spectrum of purified LTA treated by alkaline hydrolysis in 0.1M NaOH for 2 h at 37°C for chemical deacylation. Signals at 3.67 ppm (in B) and 3.56 ppm (in C) are due to the Tris buffer.
