Polyhydroxybutyrate (PHB) cassette deletion. Both P. pantotrophus DSM 2944 WT and the gene deletion strain ∆PHB were grown in MSM medium supplemented with 40 mM of glucose and nitrogen limitation. Cultivation conditions included growth in shake flasks at 37 °C with 200 rpm. Harvested and extracted biomass was used for PHB content [% CDW] quantification after 16 h.
